Als Pals

  • “In the office today, a kindergarten teacher brought one of her students down for a time out. I was on the phone so I couldn’t deal with him right away. By the time I got off the phone, I heard this sweet little voice singing to himself, ‘take three deep breaths, now count to 5, calm down, calm down, calm down.’ Oh, how I love Al!”

  • “I wanted to pass along a teacher comment ... The teacher has a girl in her class who has a physical disability. The other little girls in the class had refused to play with her until lesson 7, ‘Different and the Same.’ The afternoon after this lesson was facilitated, the teacher reports that one of the little girls in the class approached the young lady with the disability and began singing the chorus to ‘Different and the Same.’ (Click to hear song.) That song has become the theme song for all of the girls in the class, and now all of the girls play together.”

  • “My daughter participated in Al’s Pals in Grafton, Virginia. The program is so wonderful. We have moved to California and I’m very disappointed that my younger child is not able to participate. I wish that Al’s Pals was required for all children. It has really helped my daughter make good decisions and was a great introduction to the important topics that we now discuss regularly.”
